What is the da Vinci Surgical System?
The da Vinci® Surgical System is a machine featuring a camera arm and several additional mechanical arms that have various surgical instruments attached to them. Dr. Himsl controls the arms of the robot at a nearby console, and a 3-D image of the surgery site from the camera appears on a monitor located at the console.
How does the da Vinci Surgical System work?
The da Vinci Surgical System provides Dr. Himsl with several features that give it an advantage over traditional surgery for specific issues:
A 3-D high-definition camera system
